Editorial Policy
Standards for source evaluation, claim separation, and factual corrections.
Source Evaluation & Technical Analysis
Ground Phase conducts specification-based research. Our editorial analysis relies on direct examination of manufacturer product listings, engineering spec sheets, user manuals, patent filings, and verified component documentation. We do not accept unsupported marketing statements at face value.
Direct-import listings frequently mix marketing terminology with electronic specifications. All depth claims, submersible depths, and multi-frequency labels are evaluated against established electromagnetic principles (such as skin depth attenuation and conductivity phase shift) rather than seller promises.
Three-Tier Evidence Rubric
- Tier 1: Seller-Claimed Metric
- Data originating strictly from storefront descriptions (e.g., maximum depth figures, uncertified IP ratings). Marked clearly as unverified seller statements.
- Tier 2: Published Technical Documentation
- Data confirmed via circuit manuals, schematics, material grade listings (such as 304 or 316 stainless steel), or operating frequency ratings in kHz.
- Tier 3: Editorial Deduction
- Analytical assessments deriving probable real-world behavior (such as salt-sand chatter or cam-lock stress) by comparing published architecture against physical recovery realities.
Corrections Standard
Accuracy in direct-import documentation is an ongoing challenge due to frequent supplier revisions and firmware changes. When a manufacturer changes an operating parameter, or if an editorial breakdown contains an error regarding coil architecture, pinpointer circuitry, or metallurgy, we correct the article promptly and document significant factual revisions directly within the piece.
